Rockwall County closes annex project under budget, moves remaining ARPA funds to sheriff's remodel

The court approved the change order by a 5-0 vote.
Stacy told the court the addendum to the memorandum of understanding between Rockwall County and the Rockwall County Sheriff's Office obligates the remaining $45,926.22 of ARPA funds to a sheriff's remodel, explaining the step is necessary to keep ARPA money obligated and in compliance with grant terms. The court approved that addendum 5-0 as well.
Why it matters: closing out a major capital project under budget frees local funds for other priorities and, in this case, allowed the county to obligate remaining ARPA funds to an active construction effort in the sheriff's office.
