Fremont County adopts updated on-site wastewater rules after public comment period

The Fremont County Board of County Commissioners voted unanimously to adopt revisions to the county's on-site wastewater treatment system (OWTS) regulations, the board said after a public hearing that had been left open for further comment.

County Building Official Wyatt Sanders told the board his office "hasn't received any initial or any more input" since the April 14 public hearing, and County Attorney Bellas advised that the board sits as the Fremont County Board of Health under "25 1 5 0 8 2 c" and may adopt the revisions. Commissioner [motion-maker] moved to give final approval; the motion was seconded and passed on roll call.

The change follows the formal public-hearing process. Sanders characterized the updated document as an iterative update to the current regulations; no additional substantive public objections were recorded in the meeting record.
