Hawthorne council advances salary and truck-weight ordinances; approves contract awards and change orders

Both ordinances were scheduled for final consideration at the governing-body meeting on Feb. 18 at 7 p.m.
Resolutions and consent agenda: Council approved an off-consent budget-transfer resolution (R23-26) and a consent block covering MR01-26 through R29-26. The consent items as read included a handicap parking-space installation (MR01-26), redemption of a lien certificate (R24-26), award of contract for Water Service Line Replacement Phase 4 to Pacific Construction (R25-26), change orders for the roller-hockey rink improvements (R26-26) and LSRP services related to Mary Street and Agatha Hill water tanks (R27-26), and an emergency pump repair contract at Cedar Ave well (R206). Motions carried on roll call.
Administrative approvals: The council moved and approved bills for payment and accepted correspondence appointing a new firefighter-applicant to Company 4.
Council President called for the Feb. 18 final readings on the ordinances and the next council meeting was scheduled for Feb. 4 at 7 p.m.
