The Stoughton Area School District Board of Education opened its reorganizational meeting with administration of oaths and a series of officer elections.
Rachel administered the oaths of office for returning members, during which Timothy Buban and Sharon Myla Bartlett each recited the oath to support the U.S. and Wisconsin constitutions and pledged to faithfully discharge their duties. The board acknowledged that Jeffrey Leverich was excused and would rejoin the board upon his return.
Board members then held nominations for officers. Jill Patterson was nominated and approved as board president by acclamation after accepting the nomination. Lisa Pugh was nominated and approved as vice president; an abstention from the vice‑president vote was noted. Lisonbee Sorg was nominated and approved as board clerk, and Sharon Bartlett was approved as deputy clerk. Jim Moser accepted nomination for treasurer; his abstention was recorded and the motion carried. All officer votes were handled as routine motions followed by roll call/voice responses.
During the meeting the board also approved its proposed calendar of regular meetings (generally the first and third Mondays), moved by Timothy Buban and seconded; the motion carried with one recorded opposed vote. Board leaders noted the statutory requirement to meet at least once per month and discussed contingency dates for July if quorum is not available.
The meeting closed with scheduling notes: the next regular board meeting will be Monday at 6:30 p.m., with follow‑up reports on work group assignments due at the next regular meeting.
