Council approves ordinance vacating portion of alley at 207 E. 6th Street

The Weatherford City Council held a public hearing and approved an ordinance on Aug. 12 to close and abandon a portion of alley adjacent to 207 E. 6th Street.
Chad Marbuck (speaker 8) presented the request and explained the applicant’s intent to combine two parcels into one contiguous property and replat. Marbuck said similar alley abandonments have occurred in the block to the north and that the city’s SAP (staff or advisory planning) recommended approval.
The mayor opened the public hearing; no members of the public spoke. Council moved to approve the ordinance (mover Matt Tiscus, seconder Luke Williams) and the motion passed.
The ordinance was described on the agenda as Ordinance 02025-36, closing, vacating and abandoning a portion of an alley situated in Block 5 of the Mutual Realty Company subdivision (Carter’s Edition) in Weatherford, Texas. The council’s action concluded the public-hearing step and approved the abandonment as presented.
