Senate committees recommend multiple appointments for consent calendar, suggest one non-confirmation

The Majority Leader read committee reports recommending confirmations and referrals and asked that multiple appointments be placed on the consent calendar for final confirmation. The Committee on Health and Human Services recommended Lauren Vam of Arvada be appointed to the Colorado Health Facilities Authority Board of Directors for a term expiring June 30, 2029, to fill the vacancy caused by Jessica Klotch’s resignation.

The Transportation and Energy committee recommended confirmations to the Clean Transit Enterprise and the Transportation Commission. The committee reported it recommends Diane Barrett of Denver, Chris Jones of Boulder and David Averill of Telluride be confirmed to the Clean Transit Enterprise for terms expiring September 28, 2029. It also recommended Barbara McLaughlin of Durango (8th Transportation District), Terry Hart of Pueblo (10th Transportation District, reappointment) and Carl Castillo of Boulder (4th Transportation District, vacancy appointment) be confirmed to the Transportation Commission effective July 2, 2025, with terms expiring July 1, 2029.

Separately, the Transportation and Energy committee reported it does not recommend confirmation of Juan Marcano of Aurora for the 3rd Transportation District seat (term beginning July 2, 2025, expiring July 1, 2029). All committee recommendations were read into the record for placement on the consent calendar or further Senate action.

The committee reports also included amendments to several bills and routine referrals to the Committee of the Whole or to appropriations. These were presented as committee actions rather than final Senate votes; final confirmation of nominees depends on subsequent Senate action on the consent calendar.
