Developer and manager outline amenities, community plans for Nevada Flats

Hunziker Property Management gave a detailed presentation to the Nevada City Council about the Nevada Flats housing project, outlining property management, tenant services and planned community amenities.

Andy Hunziker, co-owner of Hunziker Property Management, told council the company manages roughly 1,300 units across multiple communities and highlighted 24/7 maintenance, dedicated on-site management and a screening process for tenants and pets. He said reserved parking, a secured package room and keyless, code-based entrances are among the security features planned for the building.

Erin, the project’s designated property manager, described community-focused programming and partnerships, noting the Capstone Group provided donations that helped enable the project. She outlined plans for a Free Little Library, a potential community garden and a grill pavilion, and invited council members and the public to an open house and ribbon-cutting scheduled for June 25; showings are expected to begin the following week.

Council members asked operational questions about management and public storage access; staff said some project elements (public storage opening) will be phased and that the team will coordinate fire-code and occupancy steps. The presentation did not include a council vote; staff and the developer will continue to coordinate occupancy and final operational details.
