The Bay County Board of Commissioners moved through a set of committee and board resolutions on March 17, approving a range of items from capital finance to service contracts.
Major items approved included Resolution 2026‑43 (Bay County Capital Improvement Bonds, Series 2026), a resolution supporting brownfield redevelopment and environmental cleanup programs, an agreement amendment for forensic pathology services, a Motorola service agreement for 2026–2027, release of an RFP for onboarding software, and authorization for a full‑time community center coordinator position. The board also approved travel requests, vendor agreements, a softball‑field maintenance agreement, a change order for a county construction contract, and payables.
A resolution to initiate proceedings under MCL 46‑1 to consider removal of a library trustee (Douglas Stone) was approved on the record; that item was carried as a separate motion.
How the board voted: For most items, the clerk recorded unanimous "Aye" voice votes or no opposition. Where a resolution number or short description was provided on the agenda, the board moved, seconded and carried each motion in turn; the meeting record shows no defeats on listed resolutions.
What it means: The approvals advance county capital projects, vendor contracts and administrative staffing; where contracts and bond issuances are concerned, further administrative and legal steps will follow before funds are expended or projects begin.
The board adjourned following routine miscellaneous business.
