Commissioners review draft strategic plan, ask for event‑security and final adoption in April

Washington County commissioners reviewed a revised draft of the county strategic plan at their March 16 special meeting and directed staff to return a final document and a resolution for board approval at the April meeting.
County Manager/County Attorney Curtis S. Potter told the board he had updated the draft to remove stale information and add new goals and provided a handout of the latest document. Commissioner Julius Walker said he would like the plan to include added security for events held in the WCCC MP Room. Chair John C. Spruill described the draft as a "roadmap" for enhancing the county and asked when a final document could be expected; Potter said he would bring a resolution and the final plan to the April meeting.
Commissioner Ann C. Keyes noted that many attendees at a recent healthcare meeting had volunteered to assist as needed, a possible resource for implementing parts of the strategic plan. No formal board vote or adoption occurred for the plan at this meeting; the manager will return the resolution in April for formal action.
The board adjourned after the discussion.
