The Dawes County Board of Equalization unanimously approved a late 451 application for a school located at 200 Squaw Creek Road during a brief meeting on July 8, 2025. Chairman Vic Rivera called the session to order at 9:00 AM.
Assessor Lindy Coleman presented the late 451 application at 9:02 AM. Commissioner Stewart moved to approve the late application; Commissioner Juhlin seconded the motion. The roll call vote recorded Ayes from Rivera, Juhlin and Stewart and the motion carried.
Earlier in the meeting the board amended the agenda to remove scheduled tax corrections because none were presented. Commissioner Stewart moved to amend the agenda and Commissioner Juhlin seconded; the amendment and the subsequent vote to approve the amended agenda passed unanimously. The board also approved the minutes of its June 10, 2025 meeting by unanimous roll call.
During the meeting Lindy Coleman introduced her new employee, Kelsy Peterson, to the board. Chairman Rivera announced the location of the posted Open Meetings Act information pursuant to LB 898 and recited other procedural notices. The meeting was adjourned at 9:05 AM; the board set its next meeting for August 12, 2025 at 9:00 AM.
