The Saint John Police Commission elected Bernard Johnson president and Raymond Paradiso vice president during its Feb. 11 meeting, the commission announced at the start of the session.
The vote came after nominations from commissioners and a second; the commission approved Johnson’s and Paradiso’s elections by voice vote. The panel then moved to approve the regular meeting minutes for Dec. 10, 2025, noting that a previously scheduled Jan. 14 meeting had been canceled; that minutes-approval motion also passed by voice vote.
The new officers were chosen during the meeting’s initial business. The chair opened nominations and sought seconds before putting each election to a voice vote. No roll-call vote tally with individual member votes was recorded in the transcript; the meeting record indicates motions “passed” after commissioners vocalized agreement.
The commission’s roll call earlier in the meeting listed Bernard Johnson, Rob Kamitz, Justin Nestor and Raymond (Paradiso) as present; the transcript also records Chief Steven Flores and town council liaison Jorgensen in attendance. The chair noted one department representative was absent.
The meeting proceeded to routine business after the elections and the approved minutes. A motion for adjournment was later made and carried.
The commission did not announce a date for its next meeting during the recorded portion of this session.
