Burr Ridge adopts 2026 road program after staff presentation on pavement condition ratings

The village board voted to adopt the 2026 road program after staff presented pavement condition ratings and a five-year plan that prioritizes resurfacing and maintenance. "This is our biannual street condition survey," Dave said, explaining that staff rank streets using a pavement condition rating and select the right treatment at the right time to extend pavement life.
Tom Farenak, the assistant village engineer, reviewed 2025 resurfacing work and highlighted upcoming pedestrian projects. He said the 79th Street pedestrian project is partly funded by an Invest in Cook grant of $138,000 and that the Lincolnshire Drive pedestrian crossing is funded in part through the business district with an estimated $250,000 construction cost. Tom said the village is on track to complete roughly $1.48 million in streets and pathway improvements for 2025 and projected an overall budget underrun.
Trustees asked clarifying questions about deferred work on Elm Street (pavement work had been deferred while the Elm Street culvert project proceeded). After discussion, a motion to adopt the street and pathway committee's recommendation passed in a roll-call vote recorded as 5–0.
