Burr Ridge outlines conservative timeline to sell current village hall and build new one across County Line Road

Evan said the village plans to take as much due diligence up front as possible so potential issues surface early: "we're taking extra time to prepare all the documents necessary now and then bring the PSA forward." He described the development schedule for the new village hall at 7700 County Line Road: staff and the architect will present a final draft of interior and exterior design elements on Dec. 8, the plan commission will review site plans January–May, bid documents and permits will be completed in April 2026, bidding and award will occur in May, construction is expected to begin in June 2026 and a conservative completion and grand-opening target is May 2027. Evan said the timeline could be accelerated if conditions allow.
On interim operations, Evan outlined a contingency plan to maintain services during construction: some staff would use space at the police department, other employees would work from public works on a staggered basis or remotely, and Pleasantdale School District 107 has agreed to make classroom or boardroom space with video capability available for public meetings during the transition. To support packing and relocation tasks, staff requested authorization to make Fridays in-service days (work days with public doors closed) for about six months. Mayor Grasso and trustees expressed support for frequent public notice and an FAQ page to minimize resident confusion.
The mayor and trustees did not take a final vote tonight on sale authorization or on the Friday in-service request; Evan said the board retains discretion at each step and that none of the dates are final until the formal approvals occur.
