The Red Oak Town Council approved a proposal to host a Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in 2027 and designated Events and Planning Coordinator Carol Cooke as the town's point of contact.
Organizer Patti Robinson told the council she intends to solicit donations to cover some fees and to recruit roughly 50–75 volunteers to staff the wall around the clock. Robinson said liability insurance would go through the Town of Red Oak and that she would submit the formal application.
Commissioner Sandra Russ moved to approve the wall for 2027 and to make Carol Cooke the point of contact; Commissioner Scott Briley seconded and the motion carried 4-0. The organizer said she does not need town funds now and will proceed with the application and volunteer recruitment.
