E. Castalia Road subdivision advances with Planning Board contingencies after resident questions

The Red Oak Town Council held a public hearing on the E. Castalia Road subdivision on March 9 and accepted the Planning Board's recommendation with four contingencies.
Zoning Administrator Jackie Johnson reviewed the project timeline. Resident Todd Murray asked for clarification about the process and said the proposed subdivision name did not reflect the founding family; Kevin Varnell of Stocks Engineering said the name is provisional and that he would relay the suggestion to the planning board.
Following the hearing the council voted to accept the Planning Board's recommendation and to require the four contingencies be satisfied; the motion carried 4-0. The minutes note the council will return to regular session and that implementation of the contingencies is a planning-department responsibility.
