The Maple Valley City Council on July 22 approved contracting and procurement steps for Henry’s Switch Bike Park, voting 7-0 to award design services and to authorize purchase of design/pump-track components under a cooperative contract.
Parks & Recreation Director and Assistant City Manager Dave Johnson presented the items, asking council to approve Resolution No. R-24-1912 to award the bike-park design to MXM Landscape Architecture, LLC and authorize the City Manager to execute a Professional Services Agreement. Council then approved Resolution No. R-24-1913 authorizing the City Manager to execute a purchase order utilizing Sourcewell Contract #112420-ARC with American Ramp Company for the Henry’s Switch Bike Park/Pump Track design.
Both actions were carried unanimously. The minutes record the awards and authorization but do not specify contract dollar amounts or schedule milestones in the meeting text; the design award and purchase-order authorization will move the project into preconstruction and procurement phases as administered by the Parks & Recreation department.
Dave Johnson presented both items; no amendments to the resolutions were recorded in the minutes. Follow-up questions or schedule specifics were not captured beyond the motions recorded.
