Forest Park council approves routine resolutions, grants and infrastructure agreements

The Village of Forest Park council on Sept. 22 unanimously approved a series of routine resolutions and grant acceptances, including bills totaling $524,352.69 and multiple infrastructure and grant agreements.
Council voted to dispense with reading and approve the bills by resolution (R-92-25). The clerk read department aggregates including Public Property ($206,821.86) and Water ($210,570.49) for a total of $524,352.69. The resolution was moved and seconded and adopted by an aye vote from the council members present.
Other measures adopted without discussion included acceptance of a 2025 ComEd Power and Safe Communities grant for $1,739 (R-94-25); ratification of an organized retail crime grant agreement with the state (R-95-25); authorization to accept a FY2026 IDOT tobacco enforcement grant (R-96-25); and a resolution authorizing participation in the new national multistate opioid settlements and execution of related settlement agreements (R-97-25).
The council also approved the specifications and authorized advertising bids for the village's 2025 sidewalk improvement program (R-98-25); authorized a consulting agreement with Ryan LLC regarding potential development projects (R-99-25); and approved a local public agency joint funding agreement with IDOT and engineering services with Burke for Jackson Boulevard resurfacing between Des Plaines and Harlem (R-100-25).
A motion to adopt the 2026 village council meeting schedule carried unanimously. All recorded votes taken in the meeting were unanimous in favor of the motions as presented (ayes from Commissioner Maxim, Commissioner Nero, Commissioner Vogt and Mayor Rory Hoskins).
