The Broadview Board of Trustees on Tuesday approved the accounts payable warrant list totaling $637,800.70 for the period ending Jan. 27, 2026 and moved forward several routine administrative items.
Trustee Abraham, finance chairwoman, read the warrant list and fund-level totals, saying the grand total was $637,800.70 and that expenditures over $2,500 totaled $604,136.73. The board then voted to approve the expenditures; the clerk recorded the motion as carrying (the transcript records the result as 4–0 with Trustee Miller temporarily stepped away).
In business items the board considered a resolution authorizing an independent contractor agreement with accountant Rena Bay for 20 hours per month at $720 per month. After discussion the motion to authorize the agreement was moved and carried by roll call (5–0).
Trustee Shelby moved to establish a consent agenda that included five items read into the record: (1) appointment of Carl Reyna as deputy fire chief; (2) a resolution authorizing an independent contractor agreement with Intelligence Group LTD for economic and business development services; (3) a settlement and indemnification agreement with Loyola University Medical Center regarding fire inspectional services; (4) an award to Marton Construction for the bridge/water-main crossing project on 21st Street; and (5) an agreement with Hera Property Registry LLC for property-registration services. The board approved all items on the consent agenda by roll call; the clerk recorded four yes votes and one abstention (Trustee Miller).
Clerk Clark recorded the votes and confirmed the outcomes. The motions recorded were routine approvals; no separate amendments were requested on the consent items during the meeting.
