The NorthlakeTown Council unanimously approved an ordinance to annex roughly 117 acres at the northwest corner of Harmonson Road and McPherson Drive for the Northlake 35 Logistics Park development.
Nathan (staff member) told the council the developer’s voluntary annexation petition and a related development agreement — recorded with the county clerk last fall — satisfied the town’s procedural requirements and constituted a service plan. The council opened the required public hearing and heard no speakers. After a motion to approve and a second, the council voted unanimously to adopt the ordinance.
Staff said the annexed property will default to agricultural zoning and that a zoning change to an industrial plan development and formal site-plan review will follow as the next steps in the regulatory process. Nathan said plans are already under review and that the developer is actively pursuing development of the site.
The council did not attach additional conditions in the motion; council members indicated the annexation has been under discussion for many months. The vote was recorded as unanimous; staff will return to council with rezoning and site-plan items as they are filed.
