The Village of Lindenhurst Board on May 13 authorized a service agreement with Teska Associates, Inc. not to exceed $42,530 to develop streetscape concepts and architectural design guidelines for the Grand Avenue corridor.
Teska, which led work on the Grand Avenue TIF district, will prepare conceptual designs that may include gateways, signage, lighting, banners, and landscaping. The proposal calls for applying designs to up to four sites — including the Slove Park/Village Hall area — and producing a technical memorandum. The firm also will attend staff meetings, two public open houses and two Village Board meetings. The expected completion timeline is 9–10 months.
Trustee Dawn Suchy moved to authorize the Village Administrator to enter the service agreement and Trustee Patty Chybowski seconded. The board approved the contract on a 5–0 roll‑call vote.
The minutes indicate the Teska scope will include deciding whether to build on previous TIF district ideas or begin anew; staff will use the visualizations to evaluate corridor options before any construction or budget commitments.
