Interim director reports $1.105 million balance; IKE to review Rave Mobile renewal and staffing

Lieutenant Mike Acomb, speaking for interim director Powell at the IKE Board of Directors meeting on July 16, reported the center's recent financial activity and staffing challenges.
"My name is Lieutenant Mike Acomb with the Broadview Police Department," Acomb said before reviewing the finances. He told the board the IKE made two payments in the past 30 days (Priority Dispatch, $425; Voyance Language Services, $47.88) and that two deposits from the villages of Broadview and Maywood totaled $31,297.75, bringing the IKE balance to $1,105,284.48.
Acomb said the board will be asked next month to consider a Rave Mobile Safety renewal; the annual renewal amount presented in the packet is $6,955 and is part of an installment plan. He also told members the center is short several dispatchers, that interim director Powell and staff have been balancing overtime, and that hiring postings are live with interviews expected in the coming weeks.
Board members praised intermunicipal collaboration between Broadview and Maywood on staffing and thanked dispatchers for covering shifts while recruiting proceeds. Acomb offered to circulate the Rave renewal paperwork to the board for review ahead of next month's meeting.
The board did not take formal action on the renewal or on staffing at this meeting; Acomb indicated follow-up materials will be provided for the board's next meeting.
