Warrenville’s City Council on Nov. 17 approved a slate of consent-agenda measures and two notable contracts, and moved into closed session on property and litigation matters.
The council passed ordinance O2025-55 amending the zoning ordinance and city code relating to short-term rentals; it also approved O2025-56 (the 2026 annual fee ordinance) and O2025-57 (amendments to the code on public art murals). The council adopted resolution R2025-66 authorizing L. Rod Friedman to intervene in certain tax-appeal cases on behalf of the city and approved a $500 sponsorship request from VFW Post 8081 for a gravestone marker. Council also received and filed the Police Pension Board minutes (7/22/2025) and several financial reports. The mayor read the consent items aloud before the council voted to approve the package.
On separate motions the council approved Resolution R2025-67 to waive bidding and contract with Maguire Iron Inc. for the West Water Tower riser in the amount of $149,500, and later approved Resolution R2025-68 to enter a professional services agreement with Kluber Inc. for a phase 1 space needs assessment for $85,295. Both motions were moved, seconded, and carried by roll call vote of the members present.
The meeting closed with a motion, approved by roll call, to enter closed session under provisions of 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(6) (setting a price for sale or lease of public property) and 5 ILCS 120/2(c)(11) (litigation pending or probable). The council adjourned into closed session following that vote.
