Commission hears tributes to outgoing President Christina Lambert, proceeds with routine business

The West Palm Beach City Commission opened its March 30 meeting with an approved change to allow public comment at the start of the session, then heard an extended series of tributes and public comments honoring President Christina Lambert for eight years of service as she prepares to leave the dais.
Speakers who addressed the commission included former staff and aides, neighborhood leaders, business and civic representatives, and students. Nathan Polceli, who said he had worked as a commission aide in the past, thanked Lambert for mentorship and "for giving me the opportunity to grow." Adam Myers, identifying himself as president of the West Palm Beach Fraternal Order of Police, thanked Lambert for her support of police personnel. Several speakers recounted constituent service examples and community projects tied to Lambert’s tenure.
President Lambert responded briefly, thanked speakers and invited the public to the swearing-in event later in the week. After the tributes the commission proclaimed April 2026 as Community Development Week; Jade Green, director of housing and community development, accepted and highlighted CDBG and HOME-funded projects such as Georgian Gardens and Dr. Alice Moore Apartments and announced City HCD outreach during the week.
The commission then received and filed three internal-auditor reports, approved the consent calendar and moved into public hearings and quasi-judicial disclosures. Commissioners offered final comments and thanks to staff and first responders before adjourning; Lambert said she will deliver longer remarks at a scheduled Thursday event.
