Wauconda hires Samantha (Sam) Redmond as assistant director of community development; staff anniversaries noted

At the Feb. 3 meeting Mayor announced Samantha (Sam) Redmond as the Village of Wauconda’s new assistant director of community development. The mayor said Redmond previously served as senior planner for the city of Des Plaines and welcomed her to the village staff.
The mayor recognized staff anniversaries: Christopher Galvan (21 years), Dustin Buffington (20 years), Frank Burton (2 years) and Joni Berg (2 years). He noted a Daily Herald article reporting progress on work at the former Fifth Third Bank building and said Urban Wood Design will bring equipment the following Wednesday to mill oak trees for repurposing.
The mayor also acknowledged the retirement of Rod, former CEO of Synergy, and said Kevin Collins is the new CEO; a meeting with Collins and his team is scheduled for the week of the 17th. Trustees offered brief welcoming remarks to Redmond and thanks for the announcements.
