Chad, a board member, introduced the activity and noted Amy Gregoire, the district’s wellness director, was present. A district presenter explained the exercise (paired introductions, a silent variation and small‑group problem‑solving) and said Wayfinder frames these activities as building self‑awareness and collaboration — skills the presenter connected to the district’s portrait of a graduate.
"This is all SEL," the presenter said, describing how the activity supports communication, adaptability and creativity. The presenter also demonstrated a light‑hearted Shark Tank style pitch and props intended to illustrate ways to keep meetings and student activities engaging.
Chef Natasha and her assistant Debbie were introduced as event food service support; the presenter explained logistical details (meal choices, small‑group assignments and timing) and guided attendees through the short practice activity. Trustees and attendees then divided into small groups to prepare two‑minute pitches as the exercise’s collaborative component.
The session was framed as an instructional demonstration for use in classrooms and staff development rather than as a policy decision requiring board action.
