Wayne County Engineer Dillon Davenport told the Board of Supervisors on Jan. 6 that a culvert replacement on Cedar Road northeast of Lineville is complete except for spring seeding and that the culvert crew would move next to Ohio Road northeast of Corydon. He said there were no updates on two concrete overlay contracts north of Seymour or on the county-wide center line striping project, and that the 25th Street bridge project is progressing slowly.
The board reviewed and approved the Jan. 6 claim list, which included road-material vendors, sheriff and courthouse expenses and services for public health and related functions. The claims presented at the meeting totaled $54,592.96. The meeting record lists vendor names and line-item amounts in the minutes.
During the public comment period, Don Seams said many residents are struggling to keep their homes amid rising property taxes. The board scheduled its next regular meeting for Jan. 20, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. in the courthouse lower-level conference room and adjourned at 10:56 a.m.
