At its May 19 meeting the Milford School Board approved personnel nominations, adopted its 2025–26 meeting schedule and voted to authorize the superintendent to make professional hires over the summer.
Moderator presented two nominations: Benjamin Keilar for the SAU business office as business administrator and Bailey Reynolds for Milford High School as a CTE culinary-arts teacher. After a motion and second, the board approved both nominations unanimously.
The board reviewed next year's meeting calendar and noted only one meeting scheduled during the July–August period. Members discussed the long-standing summer practice of having two board members sign new-hire paperwork at the SAU office to allow prompt onboarding; they ultimately voted to give the superintendent authority to hire professional staff from the board's last June meeting (June 16) through the first meeting of the new school year (Sept. 2), with the superintendent asked to notify board members of hires.
Moderator clarified the authority pertains to professional staff only and that the practice would continue to include notification to the board. The motion carried 4–0.
The meeting concluded with a fund-balance update from business administrator Shani Graves (assigned fund balance approved to date $944,881; opening estimate $1,200,000; $255,119 available) and several policy items moved to second read or otherwise advanced.
