The White House Planning Commission recommended Feb. 9 that the Board of Mayor and Aldermen approve annexation of about 1.3 acres owned by Richard and Wanda Judkins and to rezone the property to R-20 low-density residential.
Zach Wilkinson of Cornerstone Development Services told the commission the principal reason for annexation was to obtain sewer service and that the developer plans to bind parcels and later subdivide into two lots; staff noted the city already surrounds the parcel and that one house is feasible with a second possible depending on how much fill the low site requires.
A planning participant recounted prior work on a cul-de-sac and parcel history dating to about 2018. Commissioners discussed site constraints including low elevation and fill requirements. Staff clarified that each lot under R-20 would need to meet 20,000-square-foot minimums.
A commissioner moved to recommend annexation and the related rezoning; the motion passed on voice vote. The recommendation will move to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen for final action.
