City administrator: three wastewater operators earn state Level 4 licenses; parks and rec report strong attendance

During the White House Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting, the city administrator reported several operational and community updates.
The administrator said Tennessee wastewater operator licenses are classified into four levels and that the state requires at least one Level 4 operator for the size of the city’s new treatment plant. He announced that three staff members—Director Travis Garman, Chief Plant Operator Robert Allen and Plant Operator Brian Backhurst—were deemed qualified by the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation to sit for the Level 4 exam and "in the past few weeks, all three men were able to pass a very difficult test to achieve the highest level 4 license." That certification satisfies the staffing requirement for the new plant, the administrator said.
Parks and Recreation staff reported the Trail of Truth event drew more than 2,000 visitors and membership at the new recreation center exceeds 1,700. The administrator also said the federal government’s census operation had resumed and that a temporary staffer has been working on the third floor for the past two days; activity is expected to increase in the coming week. The planning department will not hold planning commission or board of zoning appeals meetings in December, the administrator said.
The board also learned that Eric Thompson was elected Robertson County Commissioner for District 2 (representing the White House area) and that the city hired Ethan Briley as an IT generalist who will, among other duties, begin recording meetings.
