The White House Board of Mayor and Aldermen approved a one-year interlocal agreement to secure 911 dispatch services for $293,768.85.
The agenda item authorized the city administrator, identified in the agenda as Gerald Herman, to enter the agreement with the Emergency Communication District of Robertson County, the city of Springfield and the city of White House. The police chief recommended approval. Staff explained the city’s share is calculated on call percentage and tends to rise as the city grows and its calls for service increase.
Board members asked for clarification about whether the chief would sign and whether the fee increased over last year; staff said the cost generally increases with call volume but that the 911 board has taken steps to reduce unnecessary calls through in-car computer improvements. The board moved, seconded and approved the contract during the meeting.
