A presenter at a Crossville meeting reported that construction of the new building is progressing and that the project should be "dry in" by the middle to the end of the month, inviting members to schedule a site tour then. The presenter described the yellow material on the exterior as a vapor and air barrier and said an SSR representative was on-site that day to review installation with the contractor.
The presenter introduced a proposal from SSR, a commissioning firm the presenter said has an office out of Nashville, to test the building's mechanical systems and pool systems "and make sure that it's operating at its full capacity." The presenter said the work "really just ensures the longevity of all the equipment" and that the firm has provided similar services for projects the town has used before.
No formal vote was held. The presenter said the commissioning would likely occur toward the end of construction if enough project contingency remains and if the bid holds. The presenter said staff would check contingency levels and follow up on scheduling; members did not request an immediate decision.
