The Crossville beer board approved three alcohol permits during the preliminary section of the city meeting.
Chief Brooks presented the permits and told the board he found no issues preventing issuance. “There was no issue in granting a beer permit for this business,” Chief Brooks said of the first applicant, Tennessee Steakhouse doing business as Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse. The board moved and approved that permit.
The board then approved an off‑premises beer permit for Murphy USA at the Walmart service station; the motion carried but the approval was made contingent on the issuance of the certificate of occupancy, which staff said is still pending.
Finally, the board approved a beer license for In and Out Tobacco Incorporated (applicant Mr. Patel at 45 AMO Road, Crossville); Chief Brooks said he could not find a reason to deny the license.
All three motions carried by voice vote during the beer board portion of the meeting.
