CROSSVILLE — The Crossville City Council approved a resolution authorizing submission of a "financial excellence" award application to the state comptroller’s office.
A staff member told the council that this is the first year the state has offered the award and framed recent presentations of financial policies as preparatory steps for the city’s application: "Well, this is the first year that the state has offered this award. So the city would like to go after that. That's part of why we've been presenting all these policies to you." The staff also noted the city has had a string of clean audits.
A council member moved to approve the financial excellence resolution for submission to the comptroller’s office; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote. The Chair noted the motion and second and called for the vote; council members voted 'Aye' and the Chair declared "Motion carries."
