Kaufman County commissioners on Dec. 9 adopted amendments to the county’s Subdivision and Land Development Regulations and approved updated development fees and renegotiated consultant charges.
County staff member Monique told the court the amendments had gone through legal review and a 30-day takings analysis and were ready for adoption. Monique said the county ran a request-for-qualifications process and selected the consulting engineer identified in the transcript as “Tig, Noll, and Perkins,” then renegotiated the consultant’s fees. "They did not raise them since 2020, so it was time," Monique said.
After brief questions, members approved the regulatory amendments and the updated fee schedule by voice vote. The court also approved the consultant fee adjustments recommended by staff. No dollar amounts or fee schedules were read into the public record during the meeting transcript; the staff packet was referenced and previously distributed to the court for review.
The court handled these as administrative land-development matters; staff will finalize the ordinance language and fee schedule and proceed with implementation steps required by county procedure.
