At its April 21 meeting, the Trempealeau County Board approved several routine measures advanced by committees and staff.
Resolution 2026-04-01: The board adopted a policy to void county-issued checks 90 days after issuance to align with a new financial system. Treasurer Michelle Rose briefed the board on the system change and the resolution was approved on roll call; the transcript records the resolution as passing 17–0.
Resolution 2026-04-02: The board amended the Health & Human Services budget to add $10,000 in funding from Marshfield Clinic/Security Health Plan for food-insecurity work. The resolution detailed how the $10,000 would be allocated across wages, benefits, professional services and equipment; Health & Human Services Director Jay Hein said the funds will be used in coordination with the ADRC and community partners to replace or supplement resources lost when local pantries closed. The resolution passed on roll call.
Resolution 2026-04-03: The audit committee presented audited claims for supervisors’ per diem and expenses totaling $6,292.29; the claims resolution was approved by roll call.
The board also confirmed multiple appointments by roll call and voice vote, including a Board of Adjustment appointment (Virgil Gamroth) and external representatives to Western Dairyland, the ADRC council and the Emergency Planning Council. The public health supervisor appointment (Kai Young) was confirmed to fill a vacancy.
These actions were presented as noncontroversial and aimed at aligning administrative and budget records with recent changes in staffing and vendor relationships.
