Mayor RJ Crawford read a proclamation naming the city of Crossville a Purple Heart City, praising the service and sacrifice of veterans and thanking the Daughters of the American Revolution for bringing the recognition forward. The mayor invited Purple Heart recipients in attendance to be recognized and photographed following the proclamation.
Earlier in the meeting the mayor recognized Ollie as the student of the month for February 2026, describing her as respectful, engaged in class, a peer leader and supportive of classmates. Council members and attendees offered congratulations.
