The Crossville City Council approved contract amendment #6 for the Meadow Park Lake expansion, authorizing $110,000 in additional contract funds and directing the work to proceed with a preliminary rate study included in the scope.
Council members questioned the total amount before the vote. Council discussion clarified that the $110,000 amendment includes roughly $10,000 for legal expenses and $100,000 for contractor expenses and permitting work. A councilor asked whether the full cost was posted on the agenda; staff responded that the $110,000 total was the figure under consideration. During the discussion councilors agreed to add a preliminary rate study as a first task within the $100,000 contractor allocation; the rate study was estimated in the meeting to cost about $5,000–$6,000.
A motion to approve the amendment (including the added preliminary rate study) was made, seconded and approved by voice vote. Mayor RJ Crawford stated that the amendment does not lock the city into further expenditures beyond the $110,000 authorized at this time. The council did not request additional public hearings or further study during the vote.
The amendment is recorded as contract amendment #6 and will be processed by the appropriate city departments for implementation.
