A committee member updated the Extension committee that Technologies Incorporated, a company headquartered in downtown Menasha, has requested and received a 90‑day letter of intent to explore the 43‑acre Fox Cities campus as the site for a national training center.
"They requested a letter of intent back in November, 3 months, 90 days, to explore and evaluate their options, and the county agreed to that," the committee member said. He said the 90‑day review period concludes on Feb. 17 and that facilities staff placed the matter on a Feb. 27 closed session agenda for further discussion.
Why it matters: If Technologies Inc. selects the site for a national training center, committee members said it could affect county facilities planning and local economic activity; committee members plan to attend the facilities meeting to learn more. The committee member noted the company's national footprint and that the county's facilities committee will review options in closed session before public action.
Next steps: The committee plans to attend the facilities closed session on Feb. 27 and to follow up with facilities staff; members requested additional updates at the next Extension meeting.
