The city manager said the Sports Authority has nominees for reappointment — Tracy Barnes and Rob Patton — whose terms expire next month and who agreed to continue; council agreed to add the reappointments to the consent agenda.
Staff also reported that the Daughters of the American Revolution requested Crossville adopt a "Purple Heart City" resolution. The manager said the designation requires no city financial obligation and staff recommended approval; council agreed to include that resolution in the consent items.
Staff requested authorization to submit a letter of intent for a Healthy Built Environment grant, with up to $80,000 available, to fund a trailhead and parking at Meadow Park Lake; council agreed to add the LOI to the agenda.
Separately, staff described a budget amendment to cover a sewer study for the Dunbar Road/Brown Elementary area and fees associated with a TML loan; a draft of the sewer study exists and staff plans to present the study at the council retreat.
The chair raised an ordinance to amend the leisure services committee composition to add members and create an odd number for broader participation; Ethan, the leisure services director, said the change shifts roles and aims to increase diverse input, and council agreed to add the ordinance to the agenda.
Finally, the city attorney asked to place an item on the calendar regarding city-owned property on Webb where trespassers have camped; the attorney proposed granting police authority to barricade entrances, post no-trespassing signs and prosecute violators; council agreed to place that item on the consent agenda rather than moving it into business.
None of these items received final votes at the work session; each was placed on the agenda for formal consideration.
