Lubbock County approves election staffing, early-voting schedule and vote centers for March primary

Lubbock County Commissioners Court approved a suite of election-related actions Feb. 9 to prepare for the March 3, 2026 joint primary.
The court appointed Roxane Stinson as the joint elections officer and the joint early-voting clerk, and approved Stinson as the central county station manager; Karen Cruz was named tabulation supervisor and Kristen Phelps assistant tabulation supervisor. The county elections office at 1308 Crickets Avenue was designated the main early-voting site. The court also approved early-voting dates (8 a.m.–8 p.m., with Sunday hours of noon–6 p.m.), election-day vote centers and lists of election judges and alternates.
Roxane Stinson told the court staffing is tight; several judges had to be replaced or were unavailable because of campaign conflicts, so the court authorized Stinson to fill vacant positions as needed on election day. The court approved provisional ballot cure periods and other administrative steps to ensure voters who cast provisional ballots without photo ID can return to cure their ballots within six days after Election Day.
The court recorded motions and unanimous votes to carry the election items. Stinson and county staff said they are working with the state’s voter-registration system amid software changes and expect to issue updated voter registration cards as soon as the state system allows.
