Miss Williams of the auditor's office presented line-item transfers totaling $259,574 and budget amendments of $2,000; the court approved those transfers and amendments after a motion by Commissioner Rackler and a second by Commissioner Dauby. The court also authorized payment of claims totaling $6,808,754.24 as presented by the auditor's office.
Under the consent agenda the court approved items 4–7 on a single motion. The court postponed consideration of two purchasing-policy items (agenda items 10 and 11) to Feb. 9, 2026, pending review by the county civil division of the district attorney’s office.
The court approved multiple contract-related actions: it authorized the county judge to sign a quote with Tyler Technologies to add a fraud-notify module to the county clerk’s record-management system; it authorized a Cellebrite forensic subscription addendum and a Comms Coach (GovWorks) dispatch call–review proposal for the sheriff’s office (both described as grant-funded); and it authorized a quote with MetOcean Telematics for equipment tied to the auto-theft task force.
The court also approved an interlocal cooperative agreement with the Lubbock County Hospital District doing business as University Medical Center to provide medical-examiner services, and it authorized a 30‑day termination letter to end the lease with Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center for the county’s existing medical-examiner building (the termination was described as effective Feb. 16, 2026). Other actions included nomination of Carrie W. Shaw to a Texas Conference of Urban Counties policy committee and the transfer of a development‑technician position into Public Works.
