Robinson also mentioned the possibility of adopting a seasonal on-street parking restriction (Nov. 1–Mar. 31) to facilitate snowplowing and emergency access.
Commissioner David Hoopes expressed concern about fire safety in subdivisions with narrow roads and said some neighborhoods have high vehicle counts on single lots, including trailers, which complicates enforcement. Chair Pro tem Commissioner Delaine Finlay noted that recent state changes permit narrower subdivision roads, which could exacerbate parking and emergency-access difficulties.
Commissioner Hoopes moved to set a public hearing for April 28, 2026; Commissioner Kyle Jones seconded and all voted in favor. The public hearing will allow residents, developers, and emergency-service providers to comment before the commission makes a recommendation to the City Council.
