Erwin board approves CSX parking lease, special-event permit; delays storm overtime pay vote

The Board of Mayor and Aldermen of the Town of Erwin, Tennessee, took a series of routine actions at its Nov. 13, 2025 regular meeting, approving minutes and several agenda items while deferring a vote on overtime pay tied to Tropical Storm Helene.
Minutes: Alderwoman Cathy Huskins moved and Alderman Michael Baker seconded approval of the Oct. 27, 2025 minutes; the motion passed with all ayes.
Special event: Alderman Gary Chandler moved and Alderwoman Angie Vaughn seconded approval of a special-event request from First Baptist Church; the motion passed with all ayes.
Tropical Storm Helene overtime pay (6.2): Alderman Michael Baker moved, and Vice Mayor James "Mickey" Hatcher seconded, to reset/postpone the vote on overtime pay for salaried employees affected by Tropical Storm Helene until the next meeting to allow for more information; a roll-call was recorded with ayes from the listed members and the vote was postponed.
CSX lease (6.3): Alderwoman Cathy Huskins moved and Alderman Gary Chandler seconded approval of a lease agreement with CSX for police department parking; minutes indicate the motion carried with all ayes recorded.
Resolution 1322-25 (Erwin Main Street Program): Alderman Michael Baker moved to remove Resolution No. 1322-25 from the agenda until further notice; the motion passed with ayes.
The meeting was adjourned after Mayor Glenn White announced a special-called Board meeting for Nov. 21, 2025, at 4:30 p.m.
