Erwin board approves appointment, multiple special events, bids and budget amendment

Special events: The board approved a pet vaccine clinic requested by Chelsea Brummitt for May 8 and May 10, 2025; a USA Cycling event requested by Reneau Dubberley; and an Autorama submitted by Joey Bailey for October 11, 2025. Each request passed on roll-call vote after motions by Vice Mayor Hatcher and seconds by Alderwoman Vaughn.
Bids and equipment: The board approved the low bid for a 3/4-ton truck for the Fire Department (motion by Alderwoman Angie Vaughn, second by Vice Mayor Hatcher), the bid for the Mohawk Avenue drainage project (motion by Vice Mayor Hatcher, second by Alderwoman Vaughn), and a contract for debris removal monitoring (motion by Vice Mayor Hatcher, second by Alderman Michael Baker). The minutes show roll-call approval for each item.
Budget amendment: The board approved Amendment 9.1 to Ordinance No. 759-24 (a budget amendment) after a motion by Vice Mayor Hatcher and a second by Alderman Gary Chandler; roll-call voting recorded the measure as approved.
