Committee approves rollover of unused producer-led incentive funds from 2025 to 2026

The Portage County Land and Water Conservation Committee voted to allow unused producer-led incentive funds from 2025 to be carried forward into the 2026 program year.
County staff explained that Portage County acts as fiscal agent for two producer-led groups and that the Farmers of the Milltrick Watershed Council had $4,800 in unused incentives at the end of 2025. Staff said the groups submitted paperwork and that finance confirmed the funds can be rolled over to the 2026 incentive budget if properly documented.
The committee moved and voted to approve the extension of the producer-led grant/incentive allocation from 2025 into 2026, allowing the groups to use the remaining funds for eligible incentives in the coming year. Staff will coordinate with finance to ensure carryover is processed and recordkeeping completed.
