Lisle recommends classroom lease with SASID; summer lease yields about $13,000 and annual rents near $178,000
Summary
The district told the finance committee it will recommend approving a summer classroom lease for SASID and a 2026–27 classroom lease that together generate modest revenue and include an addendum addressing Chesterton Academy’s exclusive gym use and a $50,000 repair cap.

Administration recommended approval of a summer and a 2026–27 classroom lease agreement with the School Association for Special Education in DuPage (SASID). The summer agreement would provide SASID use of eight classrooms at Shizer Elementary for the month of June and generate roughly $13,000; the 2026–27 arrangement covers seven classrooms and one office and is part of a master lease plus a Lisle‑specific addendum.
Wilkinson said the addendum acknowledges that Chesterton Academy has exclusive use of the gym and establishes a $50,000 cap on major repairs for which the district would be responsible. The arrangement requires the district to provide utilities, garbage, snow removal and janitorial support for the leased space. Total rents across the leases are expected to be just over $170,000 (Wilkinson referenced an amount approaching $178,000). Committee members were told the leases are financially advantageous for the district and support SASID’s program needs during the summer and school year.
The committee was asked to recommend the lease as included in the regular meeting packet.
