The Muncie Board of Public Works and Safety voted April 29 to approve a street closure request from The Woodlands for a Father’s Day car show on June 20.
Bailey Maxwell, representing The Woodlands, asked the board to close the extended side of Jackson Street "from one end of the building to the other" to ensure pedestrian safety during the event. The board clarified the location is on an extended, less-traveled portion of Jackson Street and approved the closure by motion and voice vote.
The board indicated staff would sign the necessary paperwork after the meeting for the applicant to take the approved closure permits.
