Engineering staff explained that the 165th Street improvement project from Kennedy Avenue to Grand Avenue is a Community Crossing matching grant with INDOT and requires a 50/50 match; the board approved contracts so the city can obtain the upfront 50% funding. The board also approved allocations from district gaming funds, including $11,000 for Hermits Park improvements, $30,000 for Columbia Park bathroom upgrades and $310,000 for the Harrison Park Pond project. A $277,000 allocation for Sixth District resurfacing was approved as well.
Committee member (speaker 3) made the motions for the approvals and each was seconded and approved by voice vote. Several members noted that contracts will be forwarded to INDOT as required to secure grant funding.
