The City of Forks City Council on March 23 approved a series of routine and project-related actions, including a commitment of matching funds for a WSDOT aviation grant and the award of an insulation contract for the Forks Industrial Park.
Council approved the agenda, accepted the minutes of the Feb. 23 regular meeting, and authorized payroll checks 45508 through 45524 in the amount of $83,497.51 and claim checks plus EFTs totaling $96,452.33. Clerk/Treasurer Caryn CaunDePez DePew presented the 2025 estimated vs. actual budget and reported the State audit is complete.
On formal items, Attorney/Planner Fleck explained the need for Resolution No. 535, which certifies the City will provide the local match for a Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Aviation Aid Grant for pavement rehabilitation and gate replacement at Quillayute Airport; the council adopted the resolution. The council also adopted an Applicant Certification required for Public Works Director Hampton’s low‑interest loan application to the Washington State Public Works Board.
Council set the public hearing for 2025 rezone requests for April 27, 2026. The Forks Industrial Park insulation project bid was awarded to Rain Paint; the motion carried with a 4–0 tally and Councilmember Pearson recorded as abstaining. The meeting adjourned at 8:26 p.m.
