Todd County Board approves proclamations, hires and routine business in April 7 meeting

At its April 7 meeting the Todd County Board unanimously approved several proclamations and routine consent-agenda items, and accepted financial warrants and departmental reports.
The board proclaimed April 2026 as Sexual Assault Awareness Month, emphasizing prevention, survivor support and community solidarity. It also proclaimed April 19–25, 2026 as National Crime Victims’ Rights Week and reaffirmed county support for victim-service organizations and allied agencies.
Under the consent agenda the board approved the March 17 meeting minutes; gambling permits for Ducks Unlimited Main Street Chapter (paddlewheel/raffle April 23 at Diamond Point in Birchdale Township) and Little Birch Lake Improvement Association (raffle Sept. 19 at Shattuck’s Hub Supper Club in Burnhamville Township); a seasonal on- and off-sale and Sunday liquor license for Double Eagle Golf & Grille (effective April 10, 2026–Jan. 10, 2027); and a series of personnel actions including hires for Public Works summer help (maintenance and engineering), part-time correctional officer and deputy hires, a full-time road deputy hire, and the hire of Kayla Fah as Care Coordinator. The board also accepted the resignation of Registered Sanitarian David Determan effective April 10, 2026.
The Board approved Auditor Warrants, Commissioner Warrants and Health & Human Services warrants as recorded in the minutes. Planning & Zoning items included appointment of Ken Hovet as District 4 representative to the Board of Adjustments and moving Richard Johnson to alternate status, and final plat approval for the "First Creek Addition" six-lot subdivision in Birchdale Township after staff-confirmed conditions were satisfied.
The meeting recessed until April 21, 2026.
